Nisargadatta Maharaj, Truth focusing on the untruth

Some great one liner’s from Nisargadatta Maharaj talking to seekers, which may cause some confusion.

“That which focuses attention is prior to attention.”

“The Truth cannot be seen or perceived; but the Truth can observe the untruth.”

Maharaj, “That which focuses attention is prior to attention.”

There are two attentive states of being that will allow the focus of attention, and with both states the attention originates from the inside of an entity focusing outside of itself. The difference between the two states is: one is a permanent state and the other is a temporal state of being. One state is Eternal and the origin of life and the other state is our personal life attention continuously working until it runs out of energy and disappears. Both of these states are controlled by the Eternal Soul focusing its eternal Attention outside of itself.

While in the body the eternal Soul has its Attention placed within the mind giving direction by directing what to focus on, working in unison with the minds attention it passively directs by being always Aware and watching. This connection allows the Soul to actually move energy particles. Temporarily hooked into a new connection the Soul is the passive working principal behind the aggressive mind using the eyes as an alternative form of focusing within matter. This is an extension of the Soul’s eternal Attention allowing it the freedom to direct and refocus with a physical attention within another dimension. An unusual increase in power and versatility, we are the ultimate operator and boss of the energy particle for a short time.

In the body you are prior to focusing and the minds directed attention but in Eternity you are the Focuser of Attention.

“That (the Soul) which focuses its attention (within the body) is prior to (the focusing and the attention placed in the body) attention”

While in Eternity the eternal Aware Soul is able to direct its gaze or its Attention (Awareness) within Eternity without the use of energy, mind or eyes. This is the power granted to all Souls and that allows a certain type of freedom which translates into birth and body control. Birth takes the eternal power of Awareness and commits it to the brain on a subtle level via the mind and once that gains ground in control and intelligence that in turn delivers the resources and mobility that we enjoy so much but at a cost, that otherwise wouldn't be there.

Energy and matter have no effect or control over Eternal Space, but Eternal Space and the Souls focusing Attention do have an effect on energy. Eternal Space is dense and impermeable by energy so it has the upper hand by forcing it to move on its direction, but that happens on a subtle level which has a chain reaction onto grosser levels. Because of this one-way street Eternity is invincible and untarnished by time and this dynamic makes Self-realization possible. You have the ultimate power to withdraw your Attention in and away from the new attention until it falls away and reveals the Truth behind everything.

The minds changing attention starts with the Soul changing its Attention first within Eternity, and without the Soul’s focus of attention would render the body useless without its pilot.

That which focuses Attention is prior to the attention placed in time.

The deepest state of meditation is created by withdrawing your eternal Attention away from the attention placed in the mind, separating the temporal attention away from the eternal Attention. This sort of retraction with your attention forces it back onto the Eternal Focuser, which creates a turnabout and you see the Real Reality behind the temporal one. You actually see the Eternal Heavenly Space, which is called Self-realization or Enlightenment and not loose your connection to the body and world.

Realizing your Self Spiritually is to surrender the false attention for the only True Attention that’s lasting.

Or in other words; you are surrendering consciousness for Awareness.

Nisargadatta, “The Truth cannot be seen or perceived; but the Truth can observe the untruth.”

What he is saying is God, Eternity or the Truth can’t be seen or perceived by the senses or by anything else here. The eyes can’t go there and the mind cannot enter for these things are impure made up of gross energy particles which are far too imperfect, impure, unstable, untrue and unable to enter. The senses are completely obsolete in the ultimate Realm called the Truth, and the Truth is the only thing that can see the Truth.

Only That which it is can observe the Truth, and That being the Soul which is able to bear witness to Eternity and God.

The Truth can also bear witness to the universe or the untruth.

The Truth or the Soul is a fragment of God and it has its attention temporary ensnared by gross matter observing the untruth evolve. It’s called the untruth because it has to change and dissolve while the Truth is changeless and eternal. You are prior to the untruth, prior to attention, prior to consciousness and prior to the connection. The Truth cannot be seen or perceived by the untruth but the untruth can be perceived and seen by That which is prior to it.

Your focusing of attention originates with the Truth just blocked by elusive impurities of the untruth that has your True Attention temporally captivated. This captivation has to end and the energy connection completely abandoned upon death for then your return home to the Truth will be completed, and the meaning of your life concluded.

The Truth which focuses attention within the untruth is prior to attention.

The Truth looks forward and sees the untruth but the untruth can’t look back to see the Truth.

The mind is the go between and that which you think you are because this new attention of the untruth thinks there is no predecessor for it is the ultimate controller; however this aggressive attitude is a characteristic of the mind and not the Truth.

Sri Nisargadatta Maharaj; Nothingness to I-am-ness

Maharaj: “Unknowingly this knowingness has appeared. How? From Nothingness this I-am-ness has appeared. How? Prior to your birth, did you ever experience I-am-ness?”

Visitor: Definitely no.

Maharaj: “Why do you clasp that knowingness now, since you are going to meet death definitely? Prior to birth you did not know you were. You are going to die, then why are you clinging to all these concepts of heaven, hell, virtue and sin? Will you care to turn around and observe, now that you have heard the information?”

“Unknowingly this knowingness has appeared.”

At Rest in Eternity you did not know about life or of anything besides being what you really are, and then out of nowhere this Eternal Being turns into being-ness when it appears from of the womb. Now with a strong sense of being you get to know your physical existence and the universe. Thus, a certain knowingness of life is taking shape and that develops into becoming something different, other than who you really are.

The Soul well engaged in knowing life is completely occupied and dominated by the mind and world. That domination has an elusive form called the personal identity which keeps all the information stored in a haphazard but personal order. This form centered on personal experiences is played forward in order to survive and get something out of life. Strictly a personal creation created for and by the environment it was never intended to be played forward after death. Because this mind made ego that comes from knowing was never real, consistent or lasting to begin with and by its own nature it’s doomed to fail as it evolves.

So, fortunately for everyone this new stuff that evolves isn’t possible to take with you upon your return to Eternity. The eternal state of ‘Unknowingly’ or ‘Nothingness’ is ground zero, where time is nonexistent and that includes the mind and all its attachments.

Unknowingly this knowingness appears on you and you’re face to face with all these interim opposites of life. This new bio-form that resulted from life started from the unknowable state of being nothing in particular, and in the end it will have to return to that state of Nothingness, but for now this knowingness and I-am-ness has you time bound and captivated.

“From Nothingness this I-am-ness has appeared.”

There was no physical existence before life and that means no material differences as well. From the Eternal land of Pure Awareness with no visual forms and empty of all matter and energy doesn’t mean it is completely empty, because being empty is really being empty of appearances and differences through separation. So, despite the invisible nature of Eternity it is nonetheless very full and complete, lacking nothing and not empty at all, but it can be classified as ‘Nothingness’ as he calls it.

From Nothingness this physical sense of being arose as I-am-ness and from that knowingness appears on it. Now thinking separately as I am this and this is mine creates false reasoning from false attachments. Now seemingly locked into this constant state of change even the present moment is evolving, and because everything changes means it was not real to begin with.

Real Truth doesn’t evolve only false truths do.

“How? Prior to your birth, did you ever experience I-am-ness?”

Prior to birth there was no experiencing in general and life is the only way to get that, so birth into I-am-ness comes first and experiences happen to that. Then knowingness of life’s experiences creates the attachment to time. This new I-am-ness is the Souls connection to the physical world and the root to all of spirituality, for it is the key ingredient to deep meditation. Observing this moving and sense-able state of I-am-ness despite the mind and world sends you into the deep meditative state called, ‘The Samadhi state.’ This is last door step before the door opens to Self-realization. In a descending meditative order: The world, the mind, the body energy (I-am-ness or consciousness) and an Awareness of being nothing in particular (or the Samadhi State), is the spiritual cookie crumb trail that leads you back to Eternity.

By remaining free from the gains of manifestation regains access to the unmanifested.

Since you will die and loose this I-am-ness anyways why would you want to keep clinging to the knowingness of all these concepts? Prior to birth this physical sense of existence was nonexistent and the knowingness of concepts like sin and virtue absent, however for a very short time you’re deeply embroiled in them. Unfortunately, life and the identity connected to time has a limited shelf life with tons of conceptual baggage tagging along, but we still cling to it like it’s all there is. Do you really think this is good enough to cling too for an eternity? Do you think Eternity wants this baggage or has the capacity for this continual disharmony arriving per person?

The Soul is complete, eternal and pure as it is and well beyond all discord of any kind, however the mind latching on to interim labels and concepts keeps this discord alive and well as the new you.

Your mind clinging to concepts diverts your attention away from the underlying facts. You are mentally anchoring your Soul down to knowingness and time when time related concepts and products don’t have the power to continue or liberate, but instead they have the power to bind you to time. Yet you still cling to them and guard them when you must surrender them. Why would hang onto these perishable goods and concepts anyways? Can that be good and harmonious for the timeless Eternal Soul? I mean, isn’t time full of harmonious contradiction and strife? Do we really want that to continue?

Now that you have heard the truth and know the problem that is preventing you from liberation, which is due to a misunderstanding of the facts, will you now act on the information by turning your attention inward toward the observer and meditate?

What’s holding you back?

Concepts?

Laziness or a lack of trust?

It’s all right here within you. It doesn’t cost you anything (or is that another concept that’s holding you back?) and the rewards are substantial, it can also take place during your daily activities disrupting nothing, so why the hesitation? I’m giving you all the information you need which is all the information I needed in order to find the truth and liberate my Soul from the knowingness of something different. And the only difference between you and me is that I acted on the information.

Will you care to turn yourself around and act on the information?

Gospel of Thomas

A woman in the crowd said to him, "Lucky are the womb that bore you and the breasts that fed you."
He said to [her], "Lucky are those who have heard the word of the Father and have truly kept it. For there will be days when you will say, 'Lucky are the womb that has not conceived and the breasts that have not given milk.'"

I like the way he tells it, spontaneous, to the point and interwoven with the moment he is indirectly, but directly very deep and determined to get his message across.

"Lucky are those who have heard the word of the Father and have truly kept it. For there will be days when you will say,”
“Lucky are the womb that has not conceived and the breasts that have not given milk.'"

This line is bold, brave and so deep it wowed me, and it must be awfully hard for anyone to understand this that isn’t seriously on the path. Because this line can play itself out in the world, the Afterlife and in the Kingdom of Heaven. This line is really spiritually sound and a direct hit to the mind.

When you find Eternal Life you will understand its deeper meaning, and although not a word will be uttered it will be understood by all.

If this line was about a dramatic time in life then it doesn’t apply to everyone nor is it a lasting event or spiritual. The same holds true for the Afterlife it simply doesn’t apply to all and it really should because this is a spiritual leader contemplating deep spiritual stuff. In the Kingdom of Heaven it does apply to all, and once you see that sacred place you’ll understand and see life as a short and rough transition that was necessary, but not anymore. You find your Eternal Home and see your Self as complete and pure, without compromise and your whole eternal Self wants nothing more, for anything else would be a downgrade and compromising. Why would you want that pain and suffering again?

If you found the Eternal Heaven while living “Lucky are the womb that has not conceived and the breasts that have not given milk,'" because in the ultimate unity of Heaven we are perfect and free from the toils of life.

Lucky is that Soul that doesn’t have to give birth, doesn’t have to enter another womb, for they heard the word of the Father and kept it.

Lucky are those who are Self-realized or enlightened for they heard the word of the Father and kept it, and now they understand what true purity is and where it resides.

The word is heard and understood by the lucky ones who find Eternal life while living via enlightenment, and they will have days where they will actually deny life and treat it like “the child of a barren woman (Nisargadatta).” Another saying that metaphorically describes the universe and our life as a product of the barren woman for God didn’t need a counterpart, a body or sex, and it all developed naturally out of the Eternal One.

We are not from the womb of another.

We are the child of God and although seemingly birthed by humans we are not human at all and our real parent is none other than the Almighty God, and it’s up to each Soul to rediscover this ancient bond.

Seemingly lost in the world once the deeply spiritual person bestows the divine grace of enlightenment it places them beyond the worldly chains, and in hindsight they see them as a temporary aberration and no one was ever lost.

Still and silently secure in your crib you never left the manger or the Father’s embrace, it just seemed like you did.

Your real home is in a place of everlasting tranquility, a place where no birth is given and no birth is necessary, lucky are you who reside there permanently and don’t have to enter the womb because you kept the word of the Father.

Detachment is the underling doctrine of this statement and although the teacher may treat life casually or as a hindrance they will also treat the living with great respect and compassion. But, they also see life as a dream from which they have woken, and their sobriety sees these temporary characteristics as addictive in nature and something that needs to be abandoned. The teacher has detached and gone through the ordeal already, they abandoned their physical and mental characteristics in order to receive the Fathers pure vision.

Despite all of this negativity life is nonetheless is a very important stepping stone for the cultivating of Souls.

It’s just your personal world that is strictly yours to behold and no one else’s that is on the line, and only you can dismantle it, because holding on to time related ideas and trying to gain entrance to a place where time is nonexistent is the dilemma that all must face.

You have to want nothing else but God and Eternity for all else is time based and nontransferable.

Jesus said, "Damn the flesh that depends on the soul. Damn the soul that depends on the flesh."

The flesh takes over thereby sentencing the Soul to limitations of the flesh and now the Soul depending on the flesh is damned by the mental and physical characteristics, which are all extras and binding to the Soul.

Jesus said, "How miserable is the body that depends on a body, and how miserable is the soul that depends on these two."

A body that depends on the body doesn’t recognize anything else in that equation, and since the Soul and God is unperceivable they are believed to be a figment of the imagination. And how miserable is the Soul that gets squandered under these conditions.

This connection between the Soul and the body sentences the Soul to mental torment where none really exists because you are complete and lacking nothing, but your Soul now perceives issues and limits that now define you. "Damn the flesh that depends on the soul. Damn the soul that depends on the flesh."

These are big lines that again teach us detachment and teach us to be “passerby’s” in the journey of life. The Soul mistakenly identifies with the flesh, damning it to the limitations of the flesh. Your Eternal Soul has been trumped by life and discontentment, but don’t let that reign supreme.

Damned by the body and mind in conjunction with the world the Soul must detach from this disorder in order to find its unity in the Kingdom of Heaven.

The mind depends on the body and the body depends on the mind, the Soul needs neither to survive but now connected it identifies with what it perceives and takes a back seat.

The Soul sitting silent and stationary in the energyless background realm of Eternity with no thoughts of its own becomes a distant victim to the unfolding scene.

Jesus said, "When you see your likeness, you are happy. But when you see your images that came into being before you and that neither die nor become visible, how much you will have to bear!"

The ‘s’ in the word “images” is a little disconcerting in this statement. There is nothing plural about the Kingdom and no image is different from the next, however he could be thinking about all the Souls that are in the Kingdom during this statement.

“When you see your image (the Soul, God and The Kingdom of Heaven) that came into being before you (before you and the universe) that nether dies nor becomes visible (for it’s Eternal and invisible to all except that which is Eternal, like the Soul), how much will you have to bear!” If you are in love with your human image and find out that it was false to begin with, not real and not your image at all, will you be able to bear that lost forever?

Will you be happy to know you are nothing but Pure Aware Space without form, without mind and without energy? No more feelings, emotions, thoughts, color, or movement and is this good enough for you? If it isn’t then you are denying the Father and the Kingdom of Heaven because as simple and negative as it may sound it is the underlining fact that awaits everyone and everything! How much will you have to bear in order to let go of the past because you invested heavily in what transpired and you like it, but now its become an attached burden. Can you handle that? You better for your Eternal life completely depends on that sacrifice, and in hindsight you will see it as just a flash, here today gone tomorrow and no one really got hurt.

Once you let go and see your image in the Kingdom of Heaven will you be able to bear that invisibility (no forms) to all and stay there, for any doubt, hesitation or look away lands you back to vulnerability in manifestation. Another life at the expense of your old life and the process starts all over again from scratch, because you couldn’t bear it.

The image you have now is not the reality of the situation and if you are ready to surrender everything that transpired for the one true image that lasts, then you are ripe for the Kingdom of Heaven.

Gospel of Thomas

Jesus said, "Look to the living one as long as you live, otherwise you might die and then try to see the living one, and you will be unable to see."

"Look to the living one as long as you live,”

“Look to the living one” is looking to God and Eternal life. He is telling you to be always on the search for Eternal life, the Kingdom of Heaven and God. Be attentive in the world, but always be on the search for God within you. Look for God with all your mind and heart and you will find the Kingdom. This is not an external search, because you won’t find ‘It’ out there, but if you’re sincere and determined enough, look as long as you live and you will find the Living One within you. This type of attitude that looks all the time will find the right literature and teacher that will help lead them to the truth within them. This is the type of determination it takes, and if you can find that searching norm in your daily life then it won’t be long before you find the Living One, and Eternal life within your Soul.

‘The Living One,’ I like this name for the Almighty Father and the Kingdom of Heaven. It never dies, and within this Kingdom we are all One as the Almighty. There, we’re all the same with no divisions of any kind, no forms, no sexes, no minds, no bodies, no universe, no worlds, no energy, just Eternal Awareness (life) in Eternal Pure Space or as; “The Living One.”

My second impression of this phrase is the link between the disciple and the teacher. Look for the Self-realized or enlightened teacher while living and seek their advice, otherwise when you die it’ll be too late, for you’ll have no one to help you then. Even if this is what he intended, which I don’t think so, he still tells us that you have to do the work while living otherwise it’ll be too late.

“otherwise you might die and then try to see the living one, and you will be unable to see."

I believe it’s a lot easier to find enlightenment while living then it is after you die, and here he thinks it’s impossible to see God after you die. In enlightenment you actually see God and the Kingdom of Heaven through the Soul, thus finding ‘The Living One’ while alive. He wants you to keep on looking until you see, otherwise it’s too late when you die, and he could be right about that.

You enter the Afterlife and loose a lot of your freedom there, however I think it can be done during the Afterlife or when it’s all over, and Jesus thinks not at all. He seems to think you’ll have no control over the process, and if you are not spiritually seeking or looking then your vulnerable to the Afterlife and it’ll take control over you. If you’re not spiritually active and meditate (this includes prayer) and contemplate on the Almighty spirit then you’re not trying to see the Living One, and it makes moving on impossible.

I believe at the end of your long and fruitless journey when the Afterlife fades slowly into nothing you’ll have no choice but to abandon your position and find the Kingdom of Heaven.

As a realized teacher we may have different thoughts and theories on the Afterlife; however they will fall in direct line with the characteristics of Eternity and life. And, when speaking about the characteristics of the Kingdom of Heaven, God or the Father there will be only the facts and no theories. If the information your reading about doesn’t revolve around these basic facts on Eternity, then you’re reading about someone who hasn’t seen the Living One.

He saw a Samaritan carrying a lamb and going to Judea. He said to his disciples, "that person ... around the lamb." They said to him, "So that he may kill it and eat it." He said to them, "He will not eat it while it is alive, but only after he has killed it and it has become a carcass."
They said, "Otherwise he can't do it."
He said to them, "So also with you, seek for yourselves a place for rest, or you might become a carcass and be eaten."

When you identify with the body and mind your identity will be violated by the aggressor and wrapped up in the eaten process, intrinsically linked to the killer. Your identity to the carcass and now the killer causes the suffering to continue well into the Afterlife with no hope of moving on. If you did your spiritual duty you wouldn’t be identifying with the carcass at all, and not looking for a reason or antidote about life you would stick tirelessly to the Spirit of the Father. Then the perpetrator can’t eat you at all, for he can’t eat the Living One, just the empty casing that was temporarily connected to the Soul. You were never in the body just connected to it and you don’t need that link anymore, and now you are free to move on. You’re connected to time related products that hinder any progress and you need to move onto a greater way of Being, in the unity of the Fathers embrace.

Death will not kill you nor will the Afterlife harm you, but if you’re afraid to let go of this life then you must suffer the ill effects.

“So also with you, seek for yourselves a place for rest,”

So also with you, seek for yourself a place at rest within you.

Find a quite and restful place to meditate and find the ‘Rest’, or the Kingdom of Heaven within you. On my previous blog I explained Jesus statement on motion and Rest.

Jesus said, "Those who know all, but are lacking in themselves, are utterly lacking."

Good line. You maybe the smartest person with all the money and fame in the world, yet if you don’t know yourself as you really are, then you have nothing at all. Those lofty attributes will perish with time and mean nothing to you, but Eternal Life does not and it means everything. Life is just a blink of the eye, so search and find your Self or Soul and you will have the Kingdom of Heaven forever, there is nothing greater than that.

Jesus said, "There are many standing at the door, but those who are alone will enter the bridal suite."

The ‘bridal suite’ is the Kingdom of Heaven, and here again he talks about the act of Self-realization, which opens the door to the Suite. The door is available to all yet few will enter, because so few know how and few will let go of the past in order to do so. In the same manner you entered you must leave, empty handed ‘Those alone’ means you have to do it alone without carrying any attributes with you except that which you came in with. It’s up to each individual to surrender their individual and worldly characteristics and find their unity at Home in the Kingdom. Let it all go and you will be rewarded with the ultimate gift of Eternal Life, and although you gave up that human individuality during the process, some of it will return to you, because the Self-governing Pure Soul is the result of this action, when you take your spot in the Almighty Father.

Jesus said, The Father's kingdom is like a merchant who had a supply of merchandise and found a peal. That merchant was prudent; he sold the merchandise and bought the single pearl for himself.
So also with you, seek his treasure that is unfailing, that is enduring, where no moth comes to eat and no worm destroys."

The peal, pearl or any priceless gem will do for this metaphor on the Almighty Spirit. A treasure that is unfailing and enduring is the Soul within all of us. Seek and find that, and you’ll need nothing else to comfort you, because nothing else can give you that divine contentment, which only comes from that gem within you. No one can take that from you and its indestructible and everlasting, so be willing to give up everything for the cause and you will find the gem.

Jesus said, "I am the light that is over all things. I am all: from me all came forth, and to me all attained.
Split a piece of wood; I am there.
Lift up the stone, and you will find me there."

Here he takes the next step in identifying with the Source. A big step, which is usually reserved for only the close disciples, and any true teacher can speak from the Source for the Source as the One. No longer speaking as a human, Jesus speaks directly from the Almighty Father from within the Kingdom of Heaven. Each enlightened teacher has this ability, but chooses not to for it could alienate people when they perceive an elevation in stature equal to God. People have a hard time understanding this, and it takes the perfect moment for a teacher to talk this way. The right to talk this way is given to them by the Father, and since the human psyche is programmed so limited the majorities can’t phantom this talk and walk away.

The Almighty Father is speaking here and He is the source of all things and everywhere is He.

The Gospel of Thomas

Jesus said,
"If they say to you, 'Where have you come from?' say to them, 'We have come from the light, from the place where the light came into being by itself, established [itself], and appeared in their image.'
If they say to you, 'Is it you?' say, 'We are its children, and we are the chosen of the living Father.'
If they ask you, 'What is the evidence of your Father in you?' say to them, 'It is motion and rest.'"

"If they say to you, 'Where have you come from?' say to them, 'We have come from the light, from the place where the light came into being by itself, established [itself], and appeared in their image.'

First of all, wow, what a great passage, and it tells the whole story on how God came into existence and then us. We have come from the original Light, which came into being as God, when God became Aware of its existence, Aware of its Being in space, a Still Eternal Light dawned and it was permanently established in dark infinite space. The Light that blossomed from God’s Awareness formed another dimension, which gave us a place for our Soul to blossom and become Aware of its Being, but by us Realizing the Father’s already established Kingdom of Heaven.

“And appeared in their image”

The Light that shines on all images and the Light that brings all images to life, originates from the Soul of the Father. All images appeared from this Eternal Light making them a reflection of the Almighty Spirit.

This Light is responsible for everything and your Soul is a part of that Light, eternally so, and this means the Father is always with you and there is no escaping that.

The Eternal Aware Father gave living beings Eternal Life, a part of his Eternal Being, and Eternal Vision develops when the Aware autonomous Soul Realizes its true nature.

We have an eternal Soul just from living out a temporary life, and still we impoverish the Soul to despair and conflict.

If they say to you, 'Is it you?' say, 'We are its children, and we are the chosen of the living Father.'

Jesus wanted his disciples to take over once he’s gone, because he had limited time and death was the punishment for what he’s saying.

He rightfully speaks for the Father, so he hands over this big responsibility to the disciples. He knows that his disciples and followers are his only hope that the words will carry on and keep living.

We are all God’s children, and to know that first hand is to be Self-realized (enlightened), like Jesus was making him the chosen teacher and leader, otherwise you are self chosen.

This gives him the power to act and speak for God, but in the end the choices is up to each teacher to step up and take it, stay back and teach or don’t teach at all. He had a healing quality that kept him out in the spotlight and there was no hiding from that, so he had to take charge at sometime. Dying for the cause at the right time wasn’t that big of a decision for him, but torture before death changes that.

If they ask you, 'What is the evidence of your Father in you?' say to them, 'It is motion and rest.'"

Another great line, that tells it all and so simply done. “Motion” is time, energy, and the particle universe, while at “Rest” is the Still energyless realm of Eternity, or the Kingdom of Heaven. Motion, is our temporary existence and Rest is our Eternal existence. Our Soul is at rest with the Father in the Kingdom of Heaven at all times, this is our true nature, the reality of the situation, and that will never change. What happens is, an energy connection develops through birth and the Soul thinks it is ‘Motion’ (the mind, body), but in fact you are ‘Rest’.

‘Motion’ is the child of the Father, and ‘Rest’ is the Father.

I’m really enjoying this. It’s a real privilege to decipher Jesus’ words especially if you’re a follower of his teachings, like I am. Before my own Self-realization I couldn’t really grasp the meaning, and even now some parables are a bit misleading with missing or added words and lost original context, however the Gospel of Thomas is real tight and close to the Source.

Jesus said, "Congratulations to the poor, for to you belongs Heaven's kingdom."

He has compassion for those who struggle and barely survive so he tells them that your value is not measured by what happens down here, in fact your real life is Eternal and priceless, riches beyond compare. No one can take that from you, it’s yours to behold and cherish, and it will never leave you and nether will the Father. He hands over his Kingdom to you to live out your peaceful eternal life there, after you transition from manifestation. So, fear not, worry not, horde not, and you shall be rewarded for your unjustified persecution.

You will be as great as the greatest and equal to all beings.

Jesus said, "Whoever has come to know the world has discovered a carcass, and whoever has discovered a carcass, of that person the world is not worthy."

Whoever knows the world for what it really is, must also know the Father, and because of that he knows his Soul is the beginning and end of all worlds. He knows the world as an imperfect reflection of the Almighty Light, while the real Light shines elsewhere in a perfect realm of tranquility, which lasts forever. A place where death and decay is nonexistent, however on earth everything is in a constant state of change and decay, making death and dissolution the only thing you can count on.

If you know beyond a doubt that you are not this and your home is not here, and your real Father (mother) is not here, then you don’t identify with anything here, and the world no longer holds you to its dying ideals. You have jettison all attached anomalies through Self-realization and you now know your Self as pure everlasting Perfection, and you don’t want anything but that eternal Perfection as your identity, making the world and universe unworthy or obsolete in comparison to the Almighty Spirit.

Science is the study of growth and decay, which is a carcass with a limited time span.

Spirituality is the study of the Spirit, which never decays or dies and lives forever.

Jesus said, The Father's kingdom is like a person who has [good] seed. His enemy came during the night and sowed weeds among the good seed. The person did not let the workers pull up the weeds, but said to them, "No, otherwise you might go to pull up the weeds and pull up the wheat along with them." For on the day of the harvest the weeds will be conspicuous, and will be pulled up and burned.

Jesus said, “The Father's kingdom is like a person who has [good] seed.”

God is the Seed that planted the universe, and that (good) Seed also established Light to the Father’s Kingdom and rests eternally as our Soul. The good Seed gave birth to life and all the good things, but also gave birth to evil.

“His enemy came during the night and sowed weeds among the good seed.”

The enemy here is the volatile conditions which we have to endure in order to succeed on earth. Your eternal identity is now sowed in with the weeds and you start troubling yourself with the weeds, but you must always remember the seed is weedless. Anything can happen to you and it’s the nature of the environment we’re in, because the positive and the negative go hand in hand, and you have to choose wisely and endure the weeds.

“The person did not let the workers pull up the weeds, but said to them, "No, otherwise you might go to pull up the weeds and pull up the wheat along with them."

The ‘Person’ here is the Father who does not interfere with the process nor does anyone else. He leaves the positive and the negative to work itself out, because you can’t have one without the other for they sustain each another, and the weeds make the good, good. It will all work out for the better in the end and the weeds actually help you find the Kingdom through the process of elimination. Leave the weeds alone and they will find the good Seed within them, which comes from leaving the bad weeds behind.

" For on the day of the harvest the weeds will be conspicuous, and will be pulled up and burned.”

When your life is coming to a close and its time to move on your Afterlife will be dictated by your weeds, until you realize the Seed of the Kingdom of Heaven. Your return to Eternity will be determined on your ability to burn away all the bad weeds until you only have the good Seed left. The Soul is all you need and all those new attributes that sprouted from the Seed in life will have to be discarded, surrendered or left behind.

The Seed is all you need.

Jesus said, "Congratulations to the person who has toiled and has found life."

Again, he gives praise to those who found eternal life through enlightenment. These types of lines also tell us that anyone can find eternal life before death via Self-realization, and it also tells us that we are the same as he. A lot of his sayings infer that when he speaks of eternal life, finding the Kingdom of Heaven, the Kingdom belongs to you, and especially when he congratulates those who found the Kingdom. This implies it can happen to anyone and it’s within all of us, so we must work hard in order to exercise that right and find the Kingdom of Heaven. He tries to tell us this secret and it’s the center piece in the majority of his sayings and parables.

He has said in the Bible over and over again.  “I am only the son of man”, mentioned some 65 times. But, back then and even now a lot of people want a definitive statement of solo hierarchy to Godliness. This establishes religions and takes center stage above other religions. Thus the word ‘God’ was tossed into the saying instead of ‘Man’ in the Gospel of John twice, and they overlook the other 65 times.

He probably said this so many times to offset the feeling of separation coming from the people he wanted to help, and you can’t help them if they think they are not like you and it’s not within their power to change and find eternal life while living. This verse tells us otherwise.

The Gospel of Thomas

Jesus saw some babies nursing. He said to his disciples, "These nursing babies are like those who enter the father's kingdom.”
They said to him, "Then shall we enter the father's kingdom as babies?"
Jesus said to them, "When you make the two into one, and when you make the inner like the outer and the outer like the inner, and the upper like the lower, and when you make male and female into a single one, so that the male will not be male nor the female be female, when you make eyes in place of an eye, a hand in place of a hand, a foot in place of a foot, an image in place of an image, then you will enter [the kingdom]."

"These nursing babies are like those who enter the father's kingdom.”

You must enter the Kingdom as you came into the world, like babies, empty handed and mentally naked of all worldly attributes. There’s only one door available to you and it’s the same door you took in. In the same manner you entered you must return, no exceptions, because through the pure Soul is the only way to see this mighty Kingdom of Heaven. And, ‘It’ has to be spot free, naked of all identities, empty of images and ideas of something else, completely bare in the face of God, this is the only way. You will then be the metaphorical child nursing on the Almighty God, or the prodigal son retuning home to the Father in the Kingdom of Heaven.

You see, the greatest gift of all is your Soul, an Eternal Piece of Heaven, a sliver of God, and that spot has to be ‘IT’, in order to see ‘IT’. The Soul has to release itself of all moving parts, including all words and colors, for they are the residue of particle environment. The total mind is abandoned by the wayside, with the rest of the universe. You are then naked as a baby and ready to enter, because only God can see God.

"When you make the two into one, and when you make the inner like the outer and the outer like the inner, and the upper like the lower, and when you make male and female into a single one, so that the male will not be male nor the female be female, when you make eyes in place of an eye, a hand in place of a hand, a foot in place of a foot, an image in place of an image, then you will enter [the kingdom]."

When all new attributes acquired from life are neutralized down into one attribute with no opposing opposites or any type of division, then you will enter the Kingdom.

Self-realization (enlightenment) reveals your inner unity with God, where all are One and no division exists. Then you’re actually one with the Almighty. In this realm there are no dueling opposites and no opposing forces of energy, making the ultimate unity of the One and the Kingdom of Heaven possible. Here in Eternity there is no upper, lower, outer or inner, no female, no male, because all those attributes belong to the universe and that doesn’t exist here. All time based links have to be surrendered in order to walk though that door and see the Almighty in Eternity, the ultimate state of being, where all are the same and together as One. You then see through the Soul’s focal point as an eye in Pure Still Space called the Kingdom of Heaven.

One speck on the ethereal body of GOD that looks at GOD.

That speck made up of Eternal Awareness, Eternal vision, Eternal life, Eternal perfection with independent being, and that lovely speck is YOU.

“His disciples said, "Show us the place where you are, for we must seek it."
He said to them, "Anyone here with two ears had better listen! There is light within a person of light, and it shines on the whole world. If it does not shine, it is dark."

He speaks here of the Light of Awareness that exists for all and illuminates Eternity, this is called the Light of God and what Jesus refers to as the Father. This Light of Awareness is the first Light that spawned the universe and consciousness, and that in turn gave us the Soul. If there is no God, no Awareness, no Light, then the Realm called Eternity is dark and unable to spawn anything. Then nothing but dark black Eternal space survives. So, God is the force that made the universe and although evolution is the king of the road down here, it is still the product of the Almighty and it does serve a greater purpose to God. What this means is that both the evolutionists and the biblical creators are somewhat right, but both are lacking in knowledge, which causes a stark divide and spiritual competition where none really exists.

Jesus said, "Be passersby."

I love this line, and it’s a reflection of the word detachment, which comes from all good teachers. Let it all go when you die, leave it like a bad dream (or good) and you will find your way.

His disciples said to him, "Who are you to say these things to us?"
"You don't understand who I am from what I say to you.
Rather, you have become like the Judeans, for they love the tree but hate its fruit, or they love the fruit but hate the tree."

You don’t understand and you doubt what I say, because you are driven by society and concepts that push you to dislike and disbelieve what I say, yet you still call me friend. Or, you like what I say, but you don’t like me as a person, and you think I should act and behave a certain way, to be something you want me to be.

Jesus said, "Congratulations to those who are alone and chosen, for you will find the kingdom. For you have come from it, and you will return there again."

Those who find the Kingdom are to be congratulated, for they found God and the starting point, and those who have found where they come from will find Eternal Life there, and they will return there upon death, skipping the Afterlife or what the Bible refers to as hell. All will return after their dislocation from time, because all living beings have a Soul. And, all inanimate objects rest on the Father’s back for us to live, so everything existing is due to the Father’s Eternal Existence.

He talks about Self-realization and Enlightenment here, and he congratulates those who achieved this sacred right, that exists for all. And, if this event happens to you, then you are chosen to lead and teach, whether you’re accepted by the public or not, it just doesn’t matter, for you are one of the few that have been chosen and accepted by God.

The Gospel of Thomas

Jesus said, "Have you found the beginning, then, that you are looking for the end? You see, the end will be where the beginning is.
Congratulations to the one who stands at the beginning: that one will know the end and will not taste death."

Finding the beginning is finding the end, which is the Source of all, what Jesus refers to as the Kingdom of Heaven and this is the result of Self-realization. When this event happens to the Soul while connected to the body, the attached mental identity that developed with body is automatically cleared, and the original identity that stays within Eternity takes over. No longer part of the body and mind, the eternal identity sees itself as independent from that link and inner knowing results from being a part of the Kingdom of Heaven, thus having Eternal life. This is what is meant by “standing at the beginning”, because your identity retracts back to the beginning, before the universe, which ultimately is the end result of all Souls and inanimate objects.

Mary said to Jesus, "What are your disciples like?"
He said, They are like little children living in a field that is not theirs. when the owners of the field come, they will say, "Give us back our field." They take off their clothes in front of them in order to give it back to them, and they return their field to them.
For this reason I say, if the owners of a house know that a thief is coming, they will be on guard before the thief arrives and will not let the thief break into their house (their domain) and steal their possessions.
As for you, then, be on guard against the world. Prepare yourselves with great strength, so the robbers can't find a way to get to you, for the trouble you expect will come.
Let there be among you a person who understands.
When the crop ripened, he came quickly carrying a sickle and harvested it. Anyone here with two good ears had better listen!”

“He said, They are like little children living in a field that is not theirs. when the owners of the field come, they will say, "Give us back our field." They take off their clothes in front of them in order to give it back to them, and they return their field to them.”

This paragraph talks about the journey of the spiritual Soul on earth that does its job and returns home to the Kingdom of Heaven burden free. When it’s time to die, detachment to what transpired is the rule of the road, because you have to relinquish or surrender all links to manifestation in order to move on. These links are temporary attachments provided by the body, mind and world, which only occur down here and they must be severed completely, or you will be bound by your links. You should happily give back all that you acquired in the fields (the world) even the clothes (the ego) on your back if you want to enter the Kingdome of Heaven.

“For this reason I say, if the owners of a house know that a thief is coming, they will be on guard before the thief arrives and will not let the thief break into their house and steal their possessions.”

If you did not do your spiritual duty then you will be ignorant to your own well being and you will guard your possessions (your life and ego, or identity to the mind and world) when death comes by hanging on to them, and this in turn will make you the thief, because you are trying to take something with you that is impossible to take (the temporary identity), and consequently your Soul is robbed of its freedom. This is what happens to the non spiritual person who doesn’t understand the way, and thus they are bound by their desires and fears that emanated from their attachments. Any hording of items or ideologies from the earthly realm are no longer viable when facing the Almighty Pure God, where only the Pure unattached Spirit can be a part of. If you don’t voluntarily give back all, then that what you want to keep will chain you down to the Afterlife, and entrance into the Kingdom of Heaven will be denied by you.

“As for you, then, be on guard against the world. Prepare yourselves with great strength, so the robbers can't find a way to get to you, for the trouble you expect will come.”

As for the disciples; you did your spiritual duty and knew ahead of time, that all must be surrendered and no possessions are worth hording at the time of death, then you will be ready. So, guard your Self (the Soul) against the world for it is a compelling attribute that will bind you and hold you down in the Afterlife creating much trouble, the trouble you expect will come and hope to avoid. The robber is your ego in the world that will ultimately chain your Soul down to the past, to the ingrained human condition that is no longer relevant to the free spirit. The robber is you the mind that thinks it can survive through the process, thus robbing your Soul of complete unity in the Kingdom of Heaven.

“When the crop ripened, he came quickly carrying a sickle and harvested it. Anyone here with two good ears had better listen!”

With no attachments to the field or to person, you are then ripe for the picking by God to enter his Kingdom.

The Gospel of Thomas

"If those who lead you say to you, 'See, the kingdom is in the sky,' then the birds of the sky will precede you. If they say to you, 'It is in the sea,' then the fish will precede you. Rather, the kingdom is inside of you, and it is outside of you. When you come to know yourselves, then you will become known, and you will realize that it is you who are the sons of the living father. But if you will not know yourselves, you dwell in poverty and it is you who are that poverty."

The Kingdom of Heaven (God, Eternity) is everywhere, but unnoticeable by the human eye, or by anything made out of particles, it’s completely invisible and undetectable. The Soul being part of the same Eternal principle provides the only doorway for your use, this gains visible access to this Eternal realm called the Kingdom of Heaven or God. When you come to know your Soul, then you really know your Self, and you become part of the whole and are known. You realize you have always been the son or the daughter of the living (Eternal) Father (God).

But, if you do not know this then you dwell in poverty, because you’re identifying with a commodity that must perish. Great wealth belongs to those who know their soul, thus know their worth, for they know the Kingdom of Heaven is with them, and they will never perish. The wealth of knowledge and confidence that comes from knowing the Source firsthand comes from Enlightenment or Self-realization, and then you become an open conduit for the information. There is only the Source to answer to from now on for its everywhere and everlasting, our true Home and now your only concern, because you know the way Home and can help others.

We are all like Jesus, made up with the same ingredients, and all of us are infused with the same ingredient as the living Father (God, Eternity, Purity, The Whole, The Source, The Almighty, The Kingdom of Heaven), which is the Soul. The ability to know the Father (via Enlightenment or Self-realization) as the Ultimate Pure Source of all things is to know your Soul, for it is made of the same properties, and although tainted by individuality as the sons and daughters are, it still coexists Eternally as the Almighty (the all-inclusive Whole). The Father can’t give you anything more or anything less than the Eternal Purity of the Soul, it is the ultimate gift, there is nothing greater than That. All other attributes come with pain and death, and the word poverty refers to the Soul mistakenly identifying with this crumbling mass of contradiction. The mind thinking it’s a lowly human impoverishes the Soul to unwanted and unnecessary torment, binding the Unlimited Eternal identity to personal conditions and characteristics down here. Instead of knowing your Self as the Source, you know your Self as that, and that’s an impoverish way of looking at something as great as your Soul. Your new temporary identity that came with the body and mind stands in the way of your Real one, which is Everlasting and a Part of the Almighty, so you stand in the way of You!

"Whoever finds the interpretation of these sayings will not experience death."

He doesn’t mean that figuratively as when someone tells you the meaning, but literally by going in and finding the answer yourself. Finding the interpretation is when you dive deep into the Soul (meditation) and uncover Reality (God or Eternity) firsthand, thereby understand unconditionally that you are a piece of the Source and will never die.

"Let him who seeks continue seeking until he finds. When he finds, he will become troubled. When he becomes troubled, he will be astonished, and he will rule over the All."

The seeker should never quit, because it takes a significant and relentless effort to find yourself, and you should never give up. When finally you are ripe for discovery you shall find your true Self, and when you do, worry not, for it will be a mind blowing experience and a troubling predicament as well. You will be astonished to know the ultimate truth and not know where to start or who will believe you.

When Realization reveals Eternity and you see the majesty of the Almighty, you will be shocked into submission and into acceptance of what truly ‘IS’, it’s unavoidable. This can be troublesome, because finding out that you are nothing but Pure Space is amazing, and a daunting discovery altogether, for who would understand? This is a troubling start especially during ancient times, and at the same time astonishing to know that God is knowable and you are a part of That, and you have That ultimate knowledge, which all beings in the universe want and so few have. To know the Source is to be the Source and the Source rules over all, however this information is unappreciable and unacceptable by many, which is troublesome for the carrier. All of this crucial information in one being yet facing a daunting task at relating it, and so few will understand causing an uphill climb that’ll be relentless and unproductive in most cases. Knowing there will be the onslaught of disbelievers that will fight you to the end (as in his case), it’ll require a creative and unique approach to get the word across, hence the metaphors and parables in his teachings.

"If the flesh came into being because of spirit, it is a wonder. But if spirit came into being because of the body, it is a wonder of wonders. Indeed, I am amazed at how this great wealth has made its home in this poverty."

It is amazing; because of the existence of an Aware Spirit in space that in turn created the universe and the human flesh. Now because of the presence of humans, that in turn created the autonomous Soul, which was extracted from the Almighty Spirit for our benefit, giving us eternal life. What a gift to receive eternal life just from existing as an impoverished human for a short while, and then inherit all of manifestation as your wayward child, just from being a part, simply amazing! That this place has a redeeming quality that will proceed it, after all this disharmony and destruction it still has a redeeming quality that is absolutely priceless, wonder of wonders. Indeed, this great wealth lies under a place where so much pain and strife abound, and a Soul is procured by this process, simply amazing!

The space between heaven and earth is like a bellows.
The shape changes but not the form;
The more it moves, the more it yields.
More words count less.
Hold fast to the center.

I decided to take selective paragraphs, because some of the lines are obvious.

But this one is a good one.

The afterlife is really a deduction, because once you know Eternity (God, Awareness, Absolute space) you know both sides of the equation, and figuring out the zone sandwiched in-between here and Eternity, which I call the afterlife is simply a process of elimination.

“The space between heaven and earth is like a bellows.”

In this realm one is faced with a level of uncertainty and confusion, seemingly lost with no help around you finding your way out is the only recourse. Following the leads before you just makes matters worst when common logic doesn’t apply to anything anymore and your life translates into hopeless images.

“The shape changes but not the form;”

When you live and die your shape changes until it dissolves, but your visual form continues in the Afterlife.

“The more it moves, the more it yields.”

Anything that moves here and in the Afterlife is understood as false to the Self-realized teacher, and in the afterlife any movement just leads to more movement and more problems,  relentless issues that you can‘t take with you flash before you. Let it continue and do nothing about it and it will only yield more. If you don’t apply the brakes your vehicle has no reason to stop. The faster the ride the harder it is, and the slower it is the easier it is.

“More words count less.”

The uttered word is from manifestation and although the verbal expression is different in the afterlife the words will still be understood, similar to a dream. Dialing down to a wordless realm is finding the Eternal realm, so the more words the further you are away from dismantling the show and moving on. Words can also be classified with movement, because they are part of the same moving dynamics of energy and time.

“Hold fast to the center”

The center here is the center of your being or the Self. The afterlife forum is linked together because of you and you keep it afloat and active with your attention, so you’ll have to purge the scene by withdrawing your attention. When you hold fast to the center your attention is drawn in and away from the images and this will surrender any and all burdensome attachments. These images represent your whole identifiable life, which is now your nemeses and must be dealt with accordingly. Holding fast to the center is your quickest way out and this in essence is meditation.

In the afterlife dreamlike visuals play out before you and although the shape of things may change and defy reason, it’ll still be identifiable and relevant to you. The uncontrollable drama before you maybe strong and impacting at first, however energy is always changing revealing the emptiness of your personal self-incarceration. The basic components of this realm will be the same for all and ceaseless, it will seem like there’s no way out, but this form of purification has a byproduct that can release itself when the time is right. Once the host surrenders everything by retreating and focusing on its center the drama looses its main character and support, causing the host to break free from the afterlife.

Two

Two

Under heaven all can see beauty as beauty only because there is ugliness.
All can know good as good only because there is evil.

Therefore having and not having arise together.
Difficult and easy complement each other.
Long and short contrast each other;
high and low rest upon each other;
Voice and sound harmonize each other;
Front and back follow one another.

Therefore the sage goes about doing nothing, teaching no talking.
The ten thousand things rise and fall without cease,
Creating yet not possessing,
Working, yet not taking credit.
Work is done, then forgotten.
Therefore it lasts forever.

Obviously he’s pointing out the dichotomy of life were everything flows between opposites in a nonstop pattern, which no one really has much control of. The only thing we can do is except the pattern as is, because our limitations tell us to stop looking for ways to control it and start looking at another way to see it. Opposites actually need one another to survive, so if you’re emotionally attached to one the other side will always be showing you how polarized you are. And, if you look at life from a different angle by letting life happen without a judgment on the way it should be, then your ego has nowhere to plant its teeth. Looking at duality as part of the whole and not as separate opposing entities gives you the bigger picture of completeness, because one actually sustains the other and gives us the many qualities in life, and without it there would be no universe. That eventually translates into finding a harmonious balance with them and a inner peace results from accepting them as a necessary part of the whole, and without them no life, so it’s absolutely necessary.

Accept credit as part of your identity than you have accepted demerits as part. Why not do the best you can and don’t take stock in whatever befalls you whether good or bad, and don’t look for excuses or glorification, just look ahead or remain neutral in the moment, and know that living with imperfection is a must and it’s no reflection of who you really are! In fact, it’s a totally false representation of the truth and any ideals wrapped up in the way it should be is born to disappoint. Oscillating between opposites is what this place does and it will never stop, just observe it and when you’re on the top don’t let the ego in to claim any ground and when you’re on the bottom do the same. It all has nothing to do with the real you!

The real you is unscathed by the drama, however the mind thinks it knows who you are and because of that your emotions are tied up in what you perceive, thus you perceive harm. The Soul watches everything and follows that identity lead which the mind naturally takes up, because the mind rules down here and the Soul is always the silent observer. And when you work on your Self by focusing on the Self the power slowly returns to its rightful owner, but the mind will fight back, because taking a backseat to a silent observer is unnerving, however in the end the Observer reigns supreme.

The Tao page One

One

The Tao that can be told is not the eternal Tao.
The name that can be named is not the eternal name.
The nameless is the beginning of heaven and earth.
The named is the mother of ten thousand things.
Ever desireless, one can see the mystery.
Ever desiring, one can see the manifestations.
These two spring from the same source but differ in name;
    this appears as darkness.
Darkness within darkness.
The gate to all mystery.

Everything in manifestation has a name and definition, which causes separation and discrimination according to personal likes and dislikes. You can’t properly translate a feeling or experience, especially when describing something bigger than life to someone who hasn’t seen or heard of it. Words in general fail to capture the beauty of a special moment, and anything that is uttered is immediately altered within each mind and downgraded. Words fall short when explaining anything that’s experiential, but that doesn’t mean we remain silent for there are words that come close and it helps to inspire. In fact that’s what this book is trying to do in their special way and a very good way at that. Each teacher will have a different approach according to their background and no two approaches will be identical unless mimicked. So, originality will be obvious even though teachers use a lot of the same words. It will also depend on the intellectual restrictions of their time and the overall psyche of the people. I think this book is the first one of its kind (besides maybe the Rig Veda) to actually try and capture the characteristics of Eternity compared to the characteristics of life, and written in a very beautiful and original way.

In Eternity there is only silence, no words need to be or can be uttered, it’s beyond all words, meanings, appearances and names or beyond any imperfect understanding that causes separation and disharmony. On the other hand the named is the cornerstone of manifestation and the fundamental property of the living dichotomy, but the silent unnamed is the cornerstone of Eternity and the fundamental principal of the Source.

“Ever desireless one can see the mystery” When Self-realization dawns the world of attractions and attachments loose their sway over the mind, because the body and mind lost it’s domination over the Self. Your eternal identity now restored and in the forefront has lost its need or interest in unnecessary desires, for they no longer provide any comfort for the ego/mind as they did before. They are seen through the clear light of reasoning that takes a resounding precedence over anything that doesn’t last and is prone to hinder.

‘Ever desiring’ and ever caught up in the glitter and gutter of manifestation one has a hard time breaking free from the compelling drama in order to see clearly.

The next three lines speak of the characteristics of Eternity and the darkness of the dim light that prevails there at the Source. Everything springs from That and returns to That which started the cosmos and consciousness. ‘Darkness within darkness’ is another way of saying the unmanifested within the manifested, because the Eternal Darkness and the still soft light of Awareness is blanketed over by particles of manifestation, which is referred to here as the dark (universe).

One dark provides the mystery and the other Dark solves the mystery.

The Tao

I was looking at old books of mine when researching for this site and one book really struck a cord with me, so much that I decided to break it down one verse at a time. One of the greatest books of all time written some 2500 years ago in poetic stanzas by a Realized Master, which is perfect for me reading in-between the lines. This will be a lot of fun for me and keep me spiritually active, and help others in understanding the way. I am happy to present: The Tao Te Ching by Lao Tsu, translated by Gia-Fu Feng and Jane English.

A Useless Issue

"One who understands and imbibes the knowledge will come to the conclusion that whatever is seen, heard, experienced and acquired is totally useless and redundant. Even the highest is useless to the highest."
